About

Arborwell Counseling

Professional Counseling to journey alongside individuals and families toward healing and hope.

Ashley Lyttle, MA LPC-S CCTP-II CAPPS

I am a licensed counselor in the state of Virgina and have been working with individuals and families in community mental health and private practice since 2009. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside people through life’s hardships, helping them move towards healing, growth, and lasting change.

I am a Certified Complex Trauma Professional as well as Certification in Attachment and Personality Patterns. I specialize in trauma treatment for adults and children as well as supporting individuals and families impacted by adoption and foster care.

My passion is helping people experience healing that reaches beyond symptom relief – fostering resilience, healthy relationships, and a deeper sense of wholeness. My hope is that this healing grows deep roots, extending into families, friendships, and the communities each person calls home.

I believe every person has a story worth understanding and a life that deserves hope. My role is not to tell you who you should become, but to walk alongside you with compassion, wisdom, and practical support as you move toward healing. In our work together, my hope is that you feel truly seen, genuinely known, and confidently supported as you take each step forward. Where you find yourself today, you are welcome here, and you don’t have to walk the journey alone.

About Me

Out of the office...

…you’ll often find me spending time outdoors with my family. I enjoy taking on projects with my husband that are probably a little beyond my skill level and figuring them out together along the way. He may have a different opinion on my confidence in these adventures, but he loves me nonetheless and is always along for the ride!

I love dancing in the kitchen with my kids, finding new adventures, and discovering the joy in the simplest moments. I’m also creative at heart and enjoy making things, working on art projects, and even fixing cars when I can. At heart, I’m a big kid who believes there is beauty, laughter, and connection to be found in everyday life.

My Mission & Core Values

Empathy First

Every therapeutic relationship begins with listening. I believe in creating a space where clients feel genuinely heard, understood.

Ethical Practice

My approach is grounded in ethical responsibility and evidence-based methods, ensuring care that is both professional and deeply human.

Individualized Care

No two stories are the same. Therapy is tailored to each person’s experiences, needs, and pace, honoring individuality above all.

Safe Environment

Trust is essential. I provide a confidential, secure space where clients can explore emotions openly and safely.

Personal Growth

Change takes time. I value patience, self-compassion, and long-term emotional development rather than quick fixes.

A personal note

A Thoughtful Space for Reflection & Growth

Therapy is not about having all the answers, it’s about creating space for understanding, reflection, and growth. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel safe, supported, and respected throughout your journey.
